The first note taking thing that works for me
I’m a serial app-hopper: Evernote, Notion, Obsidian, three napkins, you name it; yet my notes still look like a digital junk drawer, BUT I'm using Matthias Hilse’s framework for a couple of months now and turns out you can clean that mess without installing anything new.
The recipe is gloriously low-tech: make one ✱ Home note, tag stuff (#read, #idea, #don’t-forget-to-breathe), scoop related notes into ✱ Collections and when life feels orderly, build ✱ Hubs for big themes and a ✱ Journal for daily brain-dumps (All inside the plain-vanilla Apple Notes that already ships with your phone: no plug-ins & no markdown yoga).
The first setup feels like untangling last year’s Christmas lights, “takes a bit of setting up” is an understatement especially if you’ve hoarded thousands of notes. I actually moved all my notes to do a fresh start keeping only what I totally needed. It's oviously Apple-only. Forever ✱ Notes isn’t another shiny app; it’s a simple cleaning checklist taped to your digital fridge.
If you're just as messy as I am you might want to try it. Worst case, you delete one note instead of yet another app; best case, your junk drawer finally closes.
